The Open Hearth is located at 437 Sheldon Street in downtown Hartord, Connecticut. The front entrance to the facility is accessed from Charter Oak Avenue, which intersects with Sheldon Street. The Shelter is accessed on Sheldon Street. Parking is available on both sides of Charter Oak Avenue. From Downtown Hartford
At the corner of Main Street and Charter Oak Avenue, proceed East on Charter Oak Avenue (toward the Connecticut River) for three blocks to first stop sign. The Open Hearth is the salmon and grey cement block building on the left side.
From I-84 Eastbound
Take Exit 52 to connect to I-91 South. Stay right and take Exit 29A (Capitol Area). Stay right and exit at Columbus Boulevard. Turn left onto Columbus Boulevard. At second light, turn left onto Charter Oak Avenue and proceed two blocks through one stop sign. The Open Hearth is the salmon and grey cement block building on the left side.
From I-84 Westbound
Take Exit 54 to Founders Bridge and cross the Connecticut River. Stay left and at the end of the bridge, turn left onto Columbus Boulevard, heading south. Turn left onto Charter Oak Avenue and proceed two blocks through one stop sign. The Open Hearth is the salmon and grey cement block building on the left side.
From I-91 Southbound
Take Exit 29A (Capitol Area). Stay right and take first exit for Columbus Boulevard. Turn left onto Columbus Boulevard. At second light, turn left onto Charter Oak Avenue and proceed two blocks to first stop sign. The Open Hearth is the salmon and grey cement block building on the left side.
From I-91 Northbound
Take Capitol Area Exit. Stay right and take the Columbus Boulevard exit. At second light, turn left onto Charter Oak Avenue and proceed two blocks to first stop sign. The Open Hearth is the salmon and grey cement block building on the left side.
